Fanjingshan Gr
Type Locality and Naming
East Guizou. The Fanjingshan Group was named by the Precambrian Reconnaissance Gr of Hunan-Guizhou-Guangxi Provinces in 1962. The group is vastly developed in Fanjing Mt. (Fanjngshan) region. The reference section is in northwest sector of Fanjing Mountain, Guizhou Province. Coordinate: 27°51.144´ N.; 108°45.998´E.
Synonym: (梵净山群)
Lithology and Thickness
Lower part is composed of interbedding of spilite and stratiform diabase, gabbro-diabase, ultrabasic rock and chert with sandy claystone rocks. Upper part is composed of thin-bedded rhythmic cycles of sandstone, siltstone and tuffaceous sandstone. The group is about 1000 m thick.

Relationships and Distribution
Lower contact
Bottom of lowest formation (Taojinhe Fm) is not seen.
Upper contact
It is unconformably overlain by the Hongzixi Fm of the Banxi Gr, or the Jialu Fm of the Xiajiang Gr.
Regional extent
East Guizou. It developed in Fanjing Mt. region.
